| Ofsted report "Curriculum Innovation in schools" | This report describes a small scale survey in 30 schools that were innovative, the areas fall broadly into the categories: organising the curriculum through themes or inter-disciplinary links rather than discrete subjects; using curriculum time flexibly; providing alternative curriculum pathways; and developing learning skills. It has recommendations and methods for measuring success, but although the schools are listed there are no distinct case studies. |
| Innovation Unit booklet describing innovative pedagogies | This page links to two documents, the first - called "Learning Futures: Next Practice in Learning and Teaching". This briefly sketches out how schools could inspire their students through changing teaching styles. The second document, the "Horizon Scanning Guide", gives examples of such pedagogies. Both were published prior to the Learners Future project which began in 2008, the findings from the first two day workshops can also be found on this page. |
